Strong and nearly rancid banana scent, though the flavor is more what you’d expect (much more banana than chocolate). Dense yet smooth and surprisingly not starchy-feeling, I found myself enjoying it more as I got used to it. There’s a mild wheaty undertone that becomes more noticeable in the aftertaste, but it’s not terrible considering its makeup.
So chalky that it turns the inside of your mouth into velcro. It’s not chocolaty, but there’s nothing too nasty about the flavor (if you can get past the chalk). After drinking half of this bottle, my mouth is drier than it was last August after a 7-hour un-airconditioned waterless train ride across Bulgaria.
Smells like joint compound- the type that goes on purple and dries white. The consistency is smooth but not entirely ‘milky’— it’s ‘off’ just enough to suspect foul play. Flavorwise, it’s only mildly sweet, not chocolaty, and has a raw, sour note that is weak, but congruent with its industrial bouquet.
Smells a lot better than it tastes. The hazelnut flavor carries a slight bitterness before the sweetness of the remainder of the drink can register. It’s fairly thick, surprisingly smooth, and fairly creamy— but there's no cocoa flavor to offset the nutty funk.
Thickish and super drying to the mouth— quite a strong powdery quality. Flavorwise, it does well for having artificial sweeteners (they’re not over-present) and the chocolate is there but comes with a little sharpness initially. The more I drink, the more I’m used to the flavor but disgusted by how its coating the inside of my mouth.
Great flavor explosion— chocolaty, sweet, salty, creamy— it's all there and well proportioned (a bit heavy on sweet, but that's a minor gripe considering). This is the only Lithuanian product I've been able to find in Vilnius, maybe other chocolate milk producers know they couldn’t top this.
Much more of a creamy taste than a chocolaty one, but what’s there is decent. Solidly drinkable and still feels indulgent enough to want to sip rather than guzzle.
One of the sweeter liquids I’ve had in quite some time. It’s so prominent that it detracts attention away from the chocolate (unfortunately) and the texture (fortunately). Feel-wise, it's a departure from ‘milky’ and has a noticeable grit, even visually so.
Mature chocolate milk in a box-- somewhat of a novel concept. More creamy and more chocolaty than sweet, and a texture that feels completely natural.
Tries too hard to be flavorful, and misses the mark on how the experience should be. It’s strongly sweet and salty, but the caramel aspect feels underdeveloped and the chocolate and cookie notions are absent. The texture is far from milky, but more of a syrupy medium with odd-feeling physical properties.
Not nearly as offensive as the other ‘yogurt’ type drinks I’ve had before, this is very sweet and has tiny chocolate nibs that are suspended throughout but don't materially add to the flavor (just the texture). It's not chocolaty, but tastes like sweet vanilla yogurt.
Salty and eventually malty with a caramel-like note as well. The stevia is rather well hidden, as is the cocoa flavor. The aftertaste may be a bit sharp for some, but it’s a unique flavor that was unexpected given its packaging and claims.
Somewhat of a candy-sweetness to the chocolate, but it's not terribly offensive. Notably salty, which helps balance the sweetness out, and slightly contrived texture that is almost milky, but just different enough to exude a processed feel— it feels like it's carrying more solute than it can reasonably hide.
Thick, yet smooth— and a sweet but authentic chocolate flavor. Lovers of ‘thick’ would enjoy this, but for my tastes it’s a bit too far on the emulsified end of the scale; the thickness is not warranted by the cream component.
Not as much of the burnt coffee flavor that I experienced with the previous canned Cocio, and the added guarana extract doesn't seem to contribute meaningfully to the flavor (probably a positive thing). This still seemed congruent with Cocio’s portfolio and is not a disappointing experiment.
Unnaturally sludgy texture that oozes forth an earthy, contrived cocoa flavor. Expect a fair bit of residue to line the inside of wherever you choose to pour this— but I don’t recommend ‘the mouth.’
That same gummy, liquid-marshmallowy nastiness that I’ve grown accustomed to throughout Europe, as there are so many products that seem to be this exact formulation (or derivatives thereof). The packaging is neat and enticing here, but that's where the fun ends.
Closer to pudding than chocolate milk, but the cocoa flavor is prominent and enjoyable throughout. The creaminess is also present, so the thickness does not seem entirely starch-driven. It’s flavorful and unfortunately (for me) super viscous— but if thickness is something you dig, sidle up to one of these.
Lots of flavor going on— sweet, salty, and creamy— hallmarks of an excellent drink, but there’s something awkward about the flavor. It reminds me of dried papaya— a definite fruitiness to it (perhaps imitation vanilla is the culprit here), however, it is getting better with each sip. Unique, and worth a try.
Noticeably less sweet, and feels a bit bland at first taste, but the creaminess hangs on and provides (at least the illusion of) lasting flavor.
