Pleasant malty quality to the flavor, and the salt/sugar balance definitely favors the former. Cocoa flavor is hard to pick out among the malt and salt, but it's a nice departure from expectations.
Landlob Cacao Drink
Despite thinness and smoothness, the texture is artificial feeling and just a bit ‘off.’ The flavor is worse— you have to look very hard to find any inkling of cocoa and the sweetness is dull and flat.
Landliebe Milch Schoko
Thin, smooth, and very sweet— the flavor pops upon first taste. All things work in its favor, a pleasant experience from start to finish.
Saliter Schoko Milch
Very ‘wheaty’ feel and taste to it, which is not a great companion to chocolate. The chocolate taste is artificial and a bit metallic. It's adequately thin and sweet, but that's about all. Tastes like it should be in a can, not a glass bottle.
Baren Marke Kakao (1.8%) UHT
Straight down the middle in a lot of categories, this is a nice, average chocolate milk. Nothing particularly stands out, and the slightly thinner than average viscosity is welcomed. Solid, but ultimately forgettable.
Müllermilch Die Leichte Schoko
Similar egg nog like taste to other Mullermilch products, the taste is just impaired by the ‘light’ qualification. The sweetness tastes sharp and fake, there's no creamy aspect, just overall a poor tasting item.
Desira Milk Shake
Super thick and painfully fake-feeling texture that delivers an overly sweet artificial tasting ‘chocolate’ essence. Those who enjoy British chocolate may like this, as it has that sort of flavor which is not ideal for me.
Penny To Go Milk Shake
Artificially/unnecessarily thickened and a lot less sweet than you would expect. For as (calorically) indulgent as this is, the flavor and experience is no where near where it should be. Have a below-average donut instead.

Chalky texture and fairly powdery chocolate flavor, otherwise a competent and enjoyable drink.
Milram Kakao Drink
Powdery taste, and starchy, artificial feeling texture. Even the bubbles near the top of the cup look like they don’t want to be there.
Milfina Schoko-Drink (Low Fat)
No pleasantly sour note as was found in the whole version, but this has a good amount of flavor on its own, especially for being a low-fat option. The extremely smooth texture delivers a well-rounded flavor profile.
Milfina Schoko-Drink (Whole)
There’s a sour note that works for me— it helps to bring out the cocoa flavor and salt. Decently creamy as well, the overall package is good.
Muh Schoko Drink
Same as Edeka G&G Schoko Drink: Odd combination of chalky, creamy, and smooth. You have to look fairly hard to notice the cocoa flavor— what is there largely feels inauthentic. Drinkable but far from remarkable.
Weihenstephan Frischer Kakao
First thing I noticed was a sharp saltiness, which is not necessarily a bad thing— I feel it is often a quality lacking in chocolate milk. Sweetness plays a relatively minor role here, and it works.

Noticeably thinner than its whole milk counterpart, but more or less tasteless, which is not much of a departure from the fattier version.

Seemingly identical to the Gut & Günstig Schoko Drink from an ingredient profile, but the experience is different. This version feels less creamy and overall more bland.
Berchtesgadener Land Frische Schokoladen Milch
Very creamy and flavorful, more of a ‘dairy’ taste to it— also plenty of salt which helps to bring each sip to a satisfying conclusion.
Edeka Gut & Günstig Milch Drink Schokogeschmack
Nicely thin and smooth texture, but lacking much of a cocoa flavor for me. The primary taste is ‘sweet,’ and there’s not much else. I applaud the texture, but need more of everything else in order to get excited for the 2nd box.

Flavor that is an absolute punch in the face, this should not be missed. Very chalky, but for a good cause— incredibly strong and tasty cocoa flavor, plenty of cream, sweetness, and salt. Simply one of the best I have ever had!
